1000 DINNERS

by Worldwide Orphans

Tera Gibbs

Each year, WWO hosts the annual 1000 Dinners campaign where friends around the world get together for a meal to raise awareness and funds to support children in need. This year I'm hosting a 1000 Dinners event again at Be Well Bakery and Cafe in Bryn Athyn on December 17, 2016, from 8 AM to 2 PM! Last year's event raised enough money to contribute to creating a new toy library in Brooklyn for WWO's Element of Play program. (Scroll down for details on Element of Play.)

I have had the opportunity to volunteer at the toy library in Orange, NJ, several times, and wonderful things are happening there. It is a place where children and families can come to safely play, complete homework, learn something new, and use their imaginations. Please consider supporting this amazing organization.

Your dinner. Your friends. Your cause.

Each year, WWO hosts our annual 1000 Dinners campaign where friends around the world get together for a dinner party, backyard BBQ, potluck picnic, or any other celebration to raise awareness and funds to support children around the world. Our work is possible because of supporters like you and we are grateful to all of our friends who have been involved each year.

This year, we invite you to join us at a 1000 Dinners Host or to contribute to our campaign.

About WWO
Our mission is to transform the lives of at-risk, vulnerable and orphaned children through access to medical care, education, and psycho-social support so they can be independent members of their communities and the world. WWO has country programs in Bulgaria, Ethiopia, Haiti, Serbia, the U.S.A., and Vietnam.

Our legacy program, Element of Play® is a trademarked psychosocial intervention that uses play to promote child development and school readiness, improve early childhood development (ECD) knowledge for adults who interact with children, and engage communities through workforce improvement opportunities. EOP includes toy library, camp, music in motion, storytelling, imagination/improvisation, sport, academic support, child development screenings, and certified professional development training,
